False Alarm at Peterborough Facility, 1160 Monaghan Rd.
On Monday, March 29th at approximately 9:15 a.m. Peterborough Fire Services responded to a fire alarm at BWXT Nuclear Energy Canada’s Peterborough plant. The alarm was determined to be a false alarm and there was no fire or activation of the sprinkler system. There was no health or safety risk posed to the public, employees or the environment.
We understand there is work being completed on the city water supply that is causing transient pressures, so it is likely we will experience additional false alarms as this work is completed over the next several days. We will continue to keep our website up to date.
