BWXT Volunteers Support Prince of Wales Public School
On October 23, 16 employees from our Peterborough facility installed seven new garden boxes at Prince of Wales Public School! The school uses these garden boxes to educate students about gardening and sustainability.
Technicians from our manufacturing shop constructed the boxes and our volunteers dug out weeds, removed the old garden boxes and installed the new ones. Employees also walked around the neighbouring streets to pick up garbage and tidy up the areas around the school.
To additionally support the school, employees recently coordinated a collection to help restock the supply of non-perishable items and toiletries for students. Prince of Wales Public School shared that approximately 200 students rely on their breakfast and lunch programs daily. Three large boxes of goods were donated to the school late October, along with a cash donation from employees.
