Gary D. Camper

Gary D. Camper is president of BWXT Nuclear Operations Group, Inc. (NOG). In this role, he oversees the five NOG operational sites across four states representing more than 5,000 employees, including the manufacture of nuclear reactor components for U.S. Navy submarines and aircraft carriers and other nuclear and non-nuclear R&D and component production.
Mr. Camper’s tenure at BWXT extends over 40 years and includes various operational and leadership positions. He most recently served as NOG’s chief operating officer and vice president of contracts and procurement. He also managed operations at NOG-Lynchburg in Virginia, where he supervised all production fabrication activities, including assembly welding, machining and tooling, as well as production planning, maintenance and scheduling.
Additionally, Mr. Camper has held leadership positions in the Quality Control, Engineering and Project Management departments.
Mr. Camper holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Old Dominion University’s (ODU) Batten College of Engineering and Technology and is an active member of the Industrial Advisory Board for the ODU Engineering Department. He is the co-chair of the Executive Committee for Accelerated Training in Defense Manufacturing (ATDM) in Danville, Virginia, and a Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance board member.
