BWXT Names Gary Darter General Manager of Mount Vernon Facility
MOUNT VERNON, Indiana – November 3, 2015) – BWX Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:BWXT) announced today that Gary Darter has been named General Manager at BWXT Nuclear Operations Group's Mt. Vernon facility, effective in November.
Darter is replacing Michael Keene, who will be moving to another leadership role within the company. Keene had served as General Manager of the BWXT Mount Vernon facility since 2000, and has served BWXT in a number of other key positions over the past 35 years.
Darter’s 31-year BWXT career includes serving in a number of positions of increasing responsibility including Engineer, Engineering Unit and Section Manager, and Senior Program Manager at the company’s Lynchburg, Va. facility. For the last six years, he was Director, Program Management / Contract Services Department at BWXT subsidiary Nuclear Fuel Services, Inc. in Erwin, Tenn. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

BWXT’s Mount Vernon site manufactures heavy components for naval nuclear reactors used in submarines and aircraft carriers.
