Carter Named BWXT Senior Vice President, Government Affairs & Communications

(LYNCHBURG, Va. – November 22, 2017) – BWX Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:BWXT) announced today that Regina W. Carter has been named Senior Vice President, Government Affairs & Communications. 

In this role, Carter leads the government affairs and communications functions of the company. She also serves as a key member of BWXT’s executive staff and strategic planning team. 

“Regina has been Vice President since 2015,” said Rex D. Geveden, President and Chief Executive Officer. “Under her leadership, BWXT’s brand and messaging exemplify a reputation of innovation and trust and they are powerful assets on which to grow the business.” 

With more than 30 years of industry experience, Carter brings extensive knowledge of brand management, public relations and political affairs to BWXT’s leadership team. She began her career with the company as a Communications Specialist in the Public Relations department. She served as Director of Business & Employee Communications in 2010 when the company became publicly traded before being named BWXT’s Vice President of Government Affairs & Communications in 2015. 

Carter earned a bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in journalism from Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, Virginia. She is a member of the Public Affairs Council, the American Nuclear Society and Women in Government Relations. She also serves on the board of directors for Amazement Square Children’s Museum and the Advisory Council for the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra, both in Lynchburg, Virginia. In 2015, Ms. Carter was appointed by Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe to serve on the board of the Virginia Nuclear Energy Consortium Authority and re-appointed in 2017.
