BWXT Names David M. Brown President of Subsidiary BWSR

30 October 2018

Lynchburg, Va. – BWX Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:BWXT) announced today that David M. Brown has been named president of BWSR, LLC.

BWSR is a joint venture between BWXT Technical Services Group, Inc. and APTIM Federal Services performing decommissioning and demolition (D&D) and supporting nuclear operations at Naval Nuclear Laboratory sites in Idaho, Pennsylvania and New York under contract to Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP). With more than 250 full-time personnel, BWSR has conducted high-consequence D&D and infrastructure support work at these sites since 2010. Currently, BWSR is in the second year of a two-year, $140 million contract extension by FMP, with a buyer’s option for a third year.

Brown brings more than 35 years of nuclear operations and D&D experience to this position. He most recently served as BWXT’s director of a $238 million facility deactivation project at the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Gaseous Diffusion Plant in Piketon, Ohio. He has managed numerous other DOE and commercial nuclear decommissioning and waste management projects in the U.S. and internationally. Brown served as a nuclear submarine officer in the U.S. Navy for 11 years. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering from the University of Utah.

“Dave’s impressive history with BWXT and his professional roots in the D&D industry and U.S. Navy submarine force make him uniquely suited for this leadership role with BWSR,” BWXT Nuclear Services Group President Ken Camplin said. “We are confident that Dave’s leadership will result in continued BWSR successes in safety and project execution.”
