BWXT’s Tom McCabe Honored as Outstanding Chief Legal Officer of the Year by the Association of Corporate Counsel

LYNCHBURG, Va. – BWX Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:BWXT) is proud to announce that Thomas (Tom) E. McCabe has been named Outstanding Chief Legal Officer of the Year by the Association of Corporate Counsel’s National Capital Region Chapter. McCabe is senior vice president, general counsel, chief compliance officer and corporate secretary for BWXT.

McCabe was honored in the large-company category for his leadership role in the merger of defense industry leaders Orbital ATK and Northrop Grumman prior to joining BWXT earlier this year.

“BWXT congratulates Tom on this well-deserved award,” said Rex D. Geveden, BWXT’s president and chief executive officer. “Tom’s selection for his outstanding work at Orbital ATK illustrates why we were so pleased that he joined BWXT’s management team.”

In addition to his work at Orbital ATK, Inc. McCabe was also senior vice president, general counsel and secretary for Alion Science and Technology Corp., a technology solutions provider for the Department of Defense and commercial clients.

Prior to his time at Alion, McCabe was executive vice president, general counsel and secretary for Braintech, Inc. He also held a leadership position with XM Satellite Radio, negotiating significant contracts and handling Federal Communications Commission and Federal Trade Commission investigations. In addition, McCabe’s career includes positions with several law firms, COBIS Corporation, and GRC International, a public aerospace defense company that is now AT&T Government Solutions.

McCabe graduated from Georgetown University with a bachelor’s degree in English before receiving his juris doctor degree from the University of Notre Dame Law School. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business.
