BWXT Names Ryan Colvert as Senior Director for Government Relations

(LYNCHBURG, Va. – May 16, 2022) – BWX Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: BWXT) has hired Ryan B. Colvert as a senior director for government relations. Colvert will focus on BWXT’s relationships with the U.S. Congress and the executive branch related to the company’s role as the sole manufacturer of naval nuclear reactors for U.S. submarines and aircraft carriers and a provider of advanced nuclear technologies for defense and space applications. 

Colvert was most recently the senior defense policy advisor to Senator Tim Kaine, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee. 

He is a 16-year veteran of the United States Marine Corps (USMC), where he was an AV-8B pilot and Forward Air Controller. His final tour was in the USMC Department of Aviation where he led the F-35 transition team. His deployments included multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan where he flew over 400 combat missions and coordinated hundreds of close air support missions and medical evacuations. 

Colvert has a master’s degree in military studies from Marine Corps University and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from The Citadel.
