(LYNCHBURG, Va. – May 1, 2024) – BWX Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: BWXT) has hired John Lucio as a senior director for government relations. Lucio was most recently senior vice president at Ervin Graves Strategy Group, and immediately preceding that, he served as a professional staff member to the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense. 

Lucio will focus on BWXT’s relationships with the U.S. Congress and the executive branch related to the company’s work across various U.S. Department of Defense programs, including the company’s role as the sole manufacturer of naval nuclear reactors for U.S. submarines and aircraft carriers.

Lucio is a retired commissioned officer of the U.S. Navy. His final assignment was director of Government Affairs for Undersea Warfare with the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program. He holds a juris doctor from Penn State Dickinson Law and a master’s degree in national security studies from the Naval War College. He also served for nearly a decade on active duty in the U.S. Air Force.
