BWX Technologies, Inc. (BWXT) manages complex, high-consequence nuclear and national security operations, including nuclear production facilities.
BWXT is a premier manager of complex, high-consequence nuclear and national security operations for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA).
Headquartered in Lynchburg, Virginia, BWXT manages and operates large manufacturing or site closure contracts for the U.S. government, facilitates laboratory services and manages technical services.
Our nuclear and high-consequence facility management capabilities include:
- Management of operations that include manufacturing, assembling, refurbishing, dismantling, processing hazardous material, controlling/storing and inventory and disposing of nuclear material
- Management of multiple, geographically-dispersed sites, functions and projects, which require operational interface as part of a larger execution strategy
- Ensuring the manufacturability requirements of general plant infrastructure and high-hazard nuclear facilities
Through involvement with DOE environmental management projects, BWXT is making significant contributions to a cleaner future environment for all by removing legacy materials at sites that previously housed high-consequence operations (primarily during the Cold War era).
BWXT applies the knowledge and expertise that we’ve gained over 30+ years of providing decontamination and decommissioning (D&D) services to the U.S. government to treat, store and dispose of high-consequence waste and perform facility closures. Our work is performed using cutting-edge technologies, and we always adhere to best practices to enhance our safety, security and cost-efficiency. Through it all, we also continue to drive a strong nuclear safety culture.
